Being A Better Leader - A Zoom Workshop
October 23, 2021 - Registration OPEN
minimum/maximum = 4/10
to confirm minimum workshop offering, registration closes October 21st
Being A Better Leader Workshop Description: Being a good leader means being a good role model. Quickly following is knowing your stuff and setting expectations. Being human and honest helps.
Imagine this scenario – Last night the group chose an excellent campsite on an overlook above an inviting stream. Everyone agreed that the bathroom area was
behind the overlook and well away from the stream. In the morning, as the campsite evaluation was being made you notice a pile of poo and the accompanying toilet paper.
- What is the problem?
- What is the resolution?
- What is the expected outcome?
Entering the quieter seasons of outdoor leadership, this is an opportunity to look at your leadership skills and practices. It should not be a surprise that decisions are continuously being made in the backcountry. And, when you add others to the mix well, it can get dicey.
This 90-minute workshop will focus on the following topics:
- What makes a good leader
- How do decision making traps impact groups and individuals
- Lets give value to planning
Homework: You will be asked to complete an assignment prior to the workshop; expect this homework to take 30-45 minutes.
When: Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 at 10 am – 11:30 am (Eastern Time).
Cost: $20 per person.
ZOOM Link: Will be provided to confirmed registrants on October 21st.
