First Aid in the Backcountry Workshop Description: In the backcountry, what you do in the first five minutes matters. A lot. In fact, it could be the difference between life and death. This class is an overview of what to do when mishap happens and the Golden Hour of care rests solely on your shoulders.
This workshop is short – four hours – and is the first step, an introduction to what can happen, unexpectedly in the backcountry, and things you can do that will be helpful and even life-saving.
This class is a four hour NON-certificate workshop offering.
When and Where: Saturday, February 29th from 9a to 1p. Workshop location graciously donated by the Community United Methodist Church on Lewis Street.
Cost: $30 per person
Includes: Price includes workshop materials and snacks.
Workshop Focuses: This workshop focuses on risks that are more specific to the hiking and/or backpacking experience. In this workshop, you will practice processes, demonstrate procedures and implement hypothetical treatments.
