I Have Misplaced Myself - A Zoom Workshop
November 13, 2021 - Registration OPEN
minimum/maximum = 4/10
to confirm minimum workshop offering, registration closes November 11th
I Have Misplaced Myself Workshop Description: Did you know that most errors, for hikers, typically occur at decision points (trail junctions, obscure trails, game trails, social trails and heads of drainages)?
Maybe at that last junction you simply rushed passed through, not orienting yourself to location and not giving the trail you full attention. There are things you need to do to be found. There are thoughts you need to have to be found alive. Lets talk about those things.
For this workshop we are going to assume you have the 10 Essentials in your day pack. And, if you need a reminder, having an excellent whistle on your pack should be one of your tools.
This conversation will be grounded in attitude and might get a bit uncomfortable. We will look at solution based mindsets based upon statistics and research on lost person behavior.
This workshop has informative information for being injured
and self-rescue not being an option.
This 90-minute workshop will focus on the following topics:
- What are trail features
- I think I am lost, now what or I am injured, now what
- Assigned tasks
- Mental attitude and the desire to live
Homework: You will be asked to complete an assignment prior to the workshop; expect this homework to take 15 minutes.
When: Saturday, November 13th, 2021 at 10 am – 11:30 am (Eastern Time).
Cost: $20 per person.
ZOOM Link: Will be provided to confirmed registrants on November 11th.
